Has any of this EVER been documented? Does anyone besides Kerry actually KNOW Bangert?

FWIW, there's a pic of Bangert & Kerry from 1984 at link. Paper claims Bangert was a Marine Seargant and helicopter gunner.

I'd like to know how this man makes a living now, or has he been on Kerry's payroll all this time?
