So I think McCain wants to leave it there. He decided to let bygones be bygones years ago and doesn't want to reopen old wounds now. I DO understsand that in his circumstances.
That in no way gives Senator McCain the go ahead to call the Swifties "dishonest and dishonorable." His decision to forgive is a personal one and does not give him the right to speak for other Vietnam veterans.
