There's still 40% of the voters who will vote for Kerry, no matter what turns up. Kerry could give up bathing and campaign in the nude from now 'til election day and his base will still turn out for him. That's the way it is. Fortunately, those few who are undecided will now have some serious doubts, and some of his less rabid supporters may stay home. So things should work out well.

Why aren't we starting to see the results of Kerry's inability to rebuke the SBVT in the polls yet?

I think there will be an enhanced turnout for Bush. Consider this, the polls have things split evenly, but in most years, only half to 60 percent of registered voters turn up. A shift of a few percent in the turnout of one side or the other makes the pollsters wrong.
This appears to be how gore came so close in 2000. He was behind in published polls, but the double secret polls run by the democrats department of resurrections indicated an enhanced turnout for democrats.
If a few hundred thousand Vietnam vets get up and vote for Bush, it will be a rout.

I wouldn't bet on that...don't be surprised if many registered 'Rats don't show up at the polls on November 2...That's what happened in the recall in CA...many 'Rats just didn't vote!
