The author is clearly not a science editor. Aluminum does NOT have better insulating properties than glass. The thermal conductivity for Aluminum is 200X greater than glass (247 W/mK vs 1.4 W/mK)
Good point,...it takes less time to get it cold, but most people take a greater amount of time to drink it,...and those who don't are too drunk too realize the difference.
