Newsfolks want to keep the election close -- a runaway is bad for ratings. Rush, Hannity, etc. have loyal followings that will keep their numbers up, but the 'newsies' need to keep it interesting.

That may be but from what I see just on this site the big O has lost support among lots of us.

I think I understood what you meant, and if so, you are wrong about this.

The media generally regards Kerry as their man and are blatently allowing their personal wants to control their reporting and even color what they do write.

It is blatent, unashammed and documented by the watchdog groups. They have all stated that they have NEVER seen it to this extent.

Used to think that too ... a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. Having lived thru Clinton, and now having re-examined mine own remembrances of news anchors, analysts and reporters reporting in all the popular media, the sad upshot is that it was ever a mockery, a rookery of mockers the media e'er was and continues. Naught, naught and zilch to do with a balanced race for the sake of interesting and marketable stories!

Just plain cussed-ness, rebellion and scoffing.

The need to wax, to swell-up, to puff up potent, viagra-fied, materially important by making the other guy -- us, the public -- small and confused, and by comparative light and shadow the media personalities and byliners feel mighty, godlike, full of self-pride.

Thank G-d for the Internet! It has pulled the wool away from the publics eyes -- and for more than just porn.

They weren't interested in keeping the races close in '92 or '96. They did everything in their power to ensure Clinton victories in both of his elections.
