Only One Network Morning News Interview with a Swift Boat Veteran for Truth since the Campaign Launch on May 4, 2004
ALEXANDRIA, Va. --- At a Washington D.C. press conference held on May 4, 2004, the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth revealed their concerns regarding Senator Kerrys Vietnam service. It took until today --over 100 days later-- for any network morning news program to interview in studio a single one of the Swift Boat Vets for Truth.
The swift boat story has evolved into one of the biggest political stories of the year, and the fact that the network morning shows have deliberately censored these vets is outrageous, said MRC President Brent Bozell. The reality that it took the network morning news programs 100 days to put a member of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth on the air is not only bad journalism, but pure liberal bias.
And the August 24th interview conducted by Harry Smith of CBSs Early Show with Swift Boat Vet John ONeill was anything but fair and balanced. Instead Smith repeatedly berated, interrupted and attacked ONeills claims on air.
Not only are the liberal media undeniably hostile to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, they are uninterested in probing Kerrys Vietnam record for themselves, said Brent Bozell. The networks are proving their liberal bias by deliberately refusing to cover the news if it doesnt fit their agenda.
The media as a group are rabid lefties - I didn't say that they weren't. But even the 'moderates' try to keep the story going -- and if they feel that Ketchup Boy is destined to lose big, they will work extra hard to keep the contest as even as they can, for as long as they can.
O'niell should show up on Timmy Russert door step on tape day, or worse yet show up in the crowd outside the TODAY show.
They just investigate and write about the guy in front more than the guy in back because it makes for better copy sales. So yes, they end up by keeping it more even.
In Kerry's case, he is their man. The one they really want to win. They will attack Bush if he is behind or in front.
Then they will claim fairness.

Thanks, guys. Kind words much appreciated.

There not BIG any longer. They are OLD, and Ugly in their naked hatred of our President and all that is good and decent. The old media has no shame and that is what they need a good dose of.
I have the exact same feeling. If Kerry wins, but America can confront the reality that the media's "hero" protestors were not only not heroic, they hurt real heros, then it will all be worth it. The odds are daunting, I've never seen the media goose step to a singleminded purpose like they are now, but that just makes it more worth it!
This issue is now about TRUTH. The liberal media have ALWAYS suppressed it in the past.
They've been doing it since 1971, and are directly responsible for our loss of South Vietnam and the genocide of 2-3 million South Vietnames.
The media ARE our #1 practical enemy, the single element of our society that most enables the evil of liberalism to daily strengthen its stranglehold on our nation
That's not an overstatement, more and more I'm seeing "campaign finance reform" as being a huge part of that.. The Swift Vet campaign is the first thing EVER to seriously challenge it, and we all need to support it.
Its true, I've already given more to them than I ever did to any politician, and I'm going to give again. These guys aren't the first to challenge, but a part of me fears they may be the last. I pray to God they get through to Americans.
Why does'nt Brent go after O'Reilly for his bias? I keep waiting in my e-blast but nothing so far. That minnie Mike Wallace and O were lying out there clymer the other night.
This year, there's no Perot.
