We fished with percussion grenades...

As opposed to, what, woodwind grenades or strings grenades? I had a passing familiarity with concussion grenades, but I never was lucky enough to get my hands on one of the super-secret "percussion" grenades....

Look if the 1812 overture can have cannons- the Kerry overture can have percussion grenades.

You might want to "google" "percussion grenades" before you start laughing too hard. They were black, beer can size and weight. The guys on the boats in Mekong Delta used them to discourage enemy divers. They weren't "frag" grenades. I may be mistaken, but you may be thinking of concussion grenades that would be used to stun an enemy in a tunnel, building, or house.
