I disagree, and if we're discussing what is and is not a sport, let's please look at any of the shooting sports.
I disagree with you completely! As far as shooting goes, it really is a sport... Especially the biathalon.
But the olympic shooting events, rifle, handgun, and shotgun, are all sports, requiring years of series training and tremendous dedication and precision.
Have you eve competed in three position smallbore competition? The "10 Ring" is a dot in the center of the target. To score an "X" (the tie-breaker used to determine the winner when the score is tied), you must center the bullet through the "9 ring," which is exactly .22" in diameter, the same as that of the bullet. These shooters learn not only to control their breathing, but their pulse as well. You need to be in excellent physical shape for this sort of shooting.
