I have to disagree, it's very difficult and they need to be in really good condition. May and Walsh are excellent players, and very engrossing to watch. It helps I guess, for you guys at least, that they are nice to look at, too. It's unfortunate that they had to beat McPeak/Youngs of USA to get to the gold round, they were excellent also. I was glad to see they got the bronze. Go USA!

I think there is an actual rule that says that the female volleyball players must wear this type of outfit...no kidding....
I'm not surprised, and I certainly won't lending my name to any petitions to change that rule.
I will note, in the spirit of the discussion, that "Misty Mays" is as good a porn star name as I've ever heard.

I also have to agree. Any female athletes who are as breastially anatomically deficient as I are not worthy of sex-symbol status........

I was a PAC-10 volleyball referee when Holly McPeak played for UCLA several years ago. She was a hottie.

An old expression involving "...Like a Hundred Dollar Mule" comes unbidden to mind.

Why not? Because there are only two of them? Why does having seven more make it a sport?
BTW-Thanks for the pics. Grrrrrowl!

Beach volleyball is very difficult to play. Jumping in sand is not walk in the park.
That said, while I enjoy looking at the butt flesh, I do think the uniforms detract from the competitive nature of the sport. Like softball, I would guess it is 60-70% lesbian participation.

If you had played beach volleyball (2 vs 2 on soft sand), you would not say that.

congratulations on raising the bar up another inch...
This "sport" is the the beach version of volleyball. It is played with less than half as many players but the same size field. Players have to be even more athletic than regular volleyball. Their diving and jumping makes professional baseball look like lawn bowling by comparison.
And if you had a clue, you could read why they all wear what they wear: The traditional gym volleyball clothing is fine for larger teams, but with the incredible amount of running and jumping, they need something without alot of extra material to catch their hands as they're going for the ball.
Form follows function, and they're not going to wear bloomers to placate the puritans.

It's a sport. The Larry Flynt production values don't alter that at the core of it.

There has to be a team from Sweden. Then they can bring back the beer commercial that referred to the Swedish Bikini Team.
