You know, we really wouldn't suspect a conspiracy to keep these off of the shelves if that wasn't exactly the tactic that John Kerry tried to use.

Not that I ever suspected that the corporate offices for these bookstores would involve themselves in politics. I think the fault lies with their store managers and employees.

I suppose Kerry could buy up all the copies so that others can't read it, course that might encourage a second printing of the book! LOL

Well, I think lots of corporate offices involve themselves in politics, but I agree that national bookstore chains are highly unlikely to decide not to sell a bestseller because they disagree with it; the exposure and risk is just too great. Like you said, local managers are a different story. A hardcore liberal has no compunction about forcing his views on someone else whenever he can, even if it is to the detriment of his employer.
