The last US military personnel left Vietnam on April 30 1975, I believe, in the evacuation of Saigon.

A peace agreement was signed on January 22, 1973.

The policy of Vietnamization (gradual withdrawal of US troops replaced by newly-trained ARVN troops) officially began on January 21, 1969.

I'm not sure when the last volunteer reported for active duty in Vietnam, but assuming that such volunteers stopped arriving after the peace agreement and that volunteers could legally serve at 17 with parental permission, someone could theoretically be a combat veteran of Vietnam at age 47.

The probability of such people existing is pretty low, I would think.

Five bucks says at least half of these "Vietnam Vet" protesters have never been within 2,000 miles of Vietnam, and that a quarter of them were never in any service, in any capacity.

Yeah, the Swift Vets sure have hurt alot of people. People who have been lying for three decades. That's who's getting hurt.

Thanks for the info...but I have another question:

Were Americans being sent to Viet Nam after 1/21/69? If not, then the youngest a person having served would have to be 52 years old now(if they were 17 on 1/20/69).

Does this seem correct?
