"abuse in those photos did not come from authorized interogation." "freelance activity" by those on the night shift.

No policy of abuse.

Shows President ordered that all policies should follow Geneva accord.

"no such policy of abuse" Says that in fact, the policy was for the opposite.

I was over on C-SPAN and they had the cameras in the briefing room long before the briefing started.

There better be more than Enlisted personnel who pay the price.

Looks like they are showing that Karpinski and Sanchez dropped the ball.

Karpinski will be on CNN tonight....just wait...they will report that the panel says she had no fault....which is NOT was they just said.

Karpinski has had her mug on the tube since this story broke. I still don't understand why the Sec. of the Army or the Army CofS didn't tell her to "zip it" right from the get-go.

This report shows that she is at fault.

Bad Command.

They are talking about it right now on CSPAN.

So she can say whatever she wants tonight...eventually...more will know the truth about her.

They keep mentioning that it was a primary problem of the Commanders on the seen.

Stated how the Commanders on the ground did not go to the Pentagon with the issue.

Seems that the Commanders on the ground did not report a manpower problem at the prison to the pentagon.

Seems that they are stating that Rumsfeld should keep his job. Seems that they are pointing the problem with Karpinski and Sanchez.

I think that is correct, I also think they are hinting at officers between Karpinski and the guards.

The CNN reporter is pathetic..same with MSNBC person.

Translation of their questions:

"You have stated that there was no policy for abuse from the top. That this was not done under advisement orders for interogation. We understand that you say that Rumsfeld handled the investigation in a good way and never sent orders of abuse, and that the commanders on the ground seemed not to have reported any problems to the pentagon....
But what We really would like you to say is that Rumsfeld ordered this...He beat people with sticks...and he should go to jail...SO if you will just say that...we will get on with our bogus reporting of your findings. If you don't say that...we will ask you to say that...at least 10 more times...and then if you don't say what we want...we will misquote you in our bogus report".

I heard General Horner say (directed at the CNN gal) as much as, do you want to read the report to find blame or to find the ways to prevent it from happening again? I guess she wasn't listening when Schlesinger said the panel was not to fix blame.

Schlesinger does not appear happy with the lack of cooperation they got from the CIA.

"none of the people in the pictures was even an intelligence interogate"

"this was extra curicular" "done by people on the night shift"

"Did not happen on the day shifts where different noncoms were present"

Seems that they are stating

A)that folks on the night shift did this on their own. Which means some noncoms have been lying to the press...and they lied to the CID folks...which means they are in big trouble.

B) the night shift non coms did not do their job. Seems the nightshift noncoms don't deserve to be a non com....and seemed to forget what being a soldier requires.

A Lt., A Captain (or the listed company commander), and a General will most likely go down as well...for not watching their command.

Schlesinger has gone after the CIA in the past...so I would not take too much from that.

Although the panel does seem to clear Army MI as far as orders go.

Schlesinger pointed out how NONE of the people in the photos were people that intelligence had an interest in.

Seems lil Lindsay and her buddies have beef far less than truthful about this.
