John Kerry's Puzzling Silver Star Citations

Introduction

Having sowed the wind by carefully crafting his tour of duty in Vietnam as a campaign gimmick, John Kerry is now reaping the whirlwind. He has seen virtually everything about his four months in country challenged with provable eyewitness accounts backed by sworn affidavits: the “wounds” which never required hospitalization or lost time, for which he finagled three Purple Hearts; his Bronze Star with a combat “V” for “heroically” rescuing a special forces soldier who was about to be pulled from the water by a nearby Swift boat, the man in danger, perhaps, of drowning but not under hostile fire; his “gallantry” for back-shooting an enemy soldier, for which he was awarded the Nation’s third-highest decoration, the Silver Star.

Now, on the heels of yet another revelation—that Kerry’s DD 214 (“Report of Transfer or Separation”), displayed on his website, shows his Silver Star embellished with an unauthorized “V” for valor—which makes it facially false and at variance with official government records (see our article, John Kerry’s Mysterious Combat “V”)—it has come to light that his Silver Star award is fraught with other peculiarities.

.....A citation, in essence, is a narrative description of the “service” that the recipient performed to warrant the award. In other words, the citation explains why the award was made and in what way it was earned. (The regulations pertaining to Personal Award Recommendations also reccomend that combat awards be supported by at least two witnesses.)

Here’s where it gets puzzling. Lieutenant John Kerry’s award for the Silver Star has—not one citation, but three—an unheard of number for a single award.

What is going on with this guy? He's obsessed with crafting his image, somewhat like Der Shlickmeister was. This is the best article I've read, with extremely challenging questions for the presumptive Democratic candidate, the junior senator from Massachusetts.

Kerry's actions cheapens the medals given to those who have truly earned them.

It started very early on. He told people then that he wanted to get into politics.

The only explanation that is consistent with the facts as we know them is that the whole of Kerry's military service was solely intended as a decoration for his future political résumé.

Kerry's been nothing but a conniving, calculating opportunistic SOB since he was born, working any and all angles to get a better deal for himself, deserved or not.

The records mentioned in this article are one of the few times that I've been overwhelmingly grateful that the military is as anal as it is about paperwork. You Go DOD!!!

In pictures of him testifying before Congress, he is wearing his medals (ribbons). Are there any pictures high-res enough to tell if his bogus Silver Star configuration was on his shirt that day?

Has anyone raised the question about WHY in the world any Lieutenant would have so much film shot of him in uniform in settings that portray him as being a fighter?

How many service men out there came home with this much footage of themselves?

Doesn't that fact itself tend to validate the claims of some of the SwiftVets that it was apparent to them, even then, that he was working on a plan for a political career?

Remember, Kennedy had been a "hero" to him, and there were the PT Boat films of Kennedy. Perhaps this wannabe got some ideas from that.

I suspect that JFKerry's diary will be verbatim to the "after action" report that is now the "official" document collection.

All that we need now is for him to give that sly smile and say, "Thaaaat's the ticket, yeah..." I think SNL must have modeled their character on none other than John Kerry.

Early in his VVAW actions the other members viewed him as opportunistic, the FBI files have a couple of instances where this is brought up.

"Most with purple hearts are dead..."

If you mean from enemy action, I'm not sure that's so.

But just as important, we must NEVER forget those with missing limbs, partial faces, blinded, internal disfunctions, etc.!!
