American flags all over the place, beautiful hall, Abraham Lincoln bust over Kerry's left shoulder. I sense the written jokes are making him nervous.

The NAACP was organized here, The Red Cross was organized here, and (lightbulb inventer) was a student here too. and 5 presidents too.

"On a serious note" gets applause in front of this group. so does "the integrity of our politics".

"The other side is all fear and smear, becasue they can't talk about jobs, and health," and blah blah. BIG applause

No, no, no...don't boo becasue the Republican Convention is coming to New York. SMART of Kerry to discourage the booing.

so far, about 8 minutes into the speech, it's just boiler plate, routine, insults to Bush and the Republican party.
