There's a CMOH citation in Bancroft Hall at USNA that was simply amazing. It was a Marine who pretty much single-handedly stopped an NVA Tank Regiment from crossing a river. I used to go look at every time I had watch in the main office.

He only got the Navy Cross for that. Can't remember his name, but he was on staff in the late 80's

I believe the story is covered in The Easter Offensive by Col. G.H. Turley, USMCR (Ret.), the story of the last American advisors in Vietnam in 1972. Bluejacket Books, ISBN 1-55750-830-5 if you're interested.
