Well, there's been a pretty strange debate (a vicious feud actually) running for the last couple weeks on FR between the Keyes supporters and his detractors. Personally, I see it as a no-brainer (I'll hate myself in the morning for using that expression) and don't see what all the fuss is about, but I've been asked to state my position. Here it is. I support Alan Keyes 100% for Senate and oppose Barack Obama 100%.

Actually, I was surprised four years ago by how much support Keyes received down in Texas (from pro-lifers, anyway).

One can actually disagree with the choice of Alan Keyes as a candidate in a State where he does not live, one can also disagree with Keyes reparations stunt because it is causing more division within the ranks when unity is sorely needed, and one can even take issue to his past attacks on the incumbent GOP President without it meaning that by voicing those opinions, one supports Barack Obama.

I don't have a vote in Illinois (at least that I know of...), and I deeply resented the destruction of federalism represented by Hillary Clinton's willingness to go into a state she didn't even live in and pretending to represent people there. So I certainly wouldn't support it now simply because it's a guy with an "R" attached to his name doing it.

Thanks, Jim! It really is a "no-brainer." You don't have to love the guy; you just have to realize what is at stake in these elections.

Some folks get so caught up in their personal feuds here on FR that they can't see the forest for the trees.
