Can you imagine what the libs would say if they saw it? "He's feeding us because God told him to!" Which of course is true but you KNOW they'd say it negatively . . .

It may go in direct contrast to the Scripture I posted, but I don't really care what the libs think. I agree with you, they would find some way to denigrate the President because of his faith, but you know what?

It's high time around here (sounds like a Southern saying) that somebody did something because it was right, not because it was popular. Oh yeah, that is what the President's aim has been for the past four years, and beyond (as TX governor).

He really seems to love Jesus with all of his heart, and that is what the libs hate about him--on BOTH sides of the aisle.

I also think that those who respect and support the President, whether or not one believes in God/Jesus/Holy Spirit/spiritual things, or is as vocal about it, respect him greatly because he is a man of faith and of principle, who holds in high regard the OFFICE of the President of the United States of America.

Paul the Apostle, from whose mouth that Scripture originated, is an ancient example of how people can change, and be instantaneously hated for it. As Saul of Tarsus, he was zealous for the things of God, though in his zeal he thought that this Christianity thing was disrespectful to God. (Proof that you can be zealous and wrong at the same time).

Bible scholars, and even casual readers, know that he consented to the stoning death of the deacon Stephen, and afterwards tried to have Christians persecuted, even executed. One knock off of his "high horse" by the Almighty and a "heavenly mandate" later, here is the same Saul now preaching the message of the same Christ whose followers he just tried to kill.

The leaders of the day didn't like him, once he crossed over. Can you imagine what they would have said, in today's political climate?

"This is a ploy by the evil nasty Bible-thumping Republicans!"
"Separation of church and state!!!"
"Fascist! Dictator! Nazi!" (and so on)

Paul, as he was soonafter known, spent much of his post-conversion life in jail, because of his faith. It was from there that he wrote the aforementioned Scripture about feeding your hungry enemy (in fact, he quoted it from the Old Testament), as well as many other encouragements. He eventually was martyred for his faith, but even today, his writings continue to encourage and inspire millions.

Whether or not President Bush wins a second term, and I pray that he does, I believe that a generation will look back on this time and see that we had someone in the White House who was unashamed to say that this was indeed "one nation, under God".

Sorry for the long post in the Dose--I just felt it needed to be said.

I don't care what the libs. think/say either. Frankly, some days I expect lightning to come down and strike them where they stand.

His spiritual beliefs, and ACTING ON THEM, no matter what people think, is what makes the President such a great man, and such a great man for our country. I really fear for all of us if Kerry is elected.

Very good rant!
