Thanks for the post! Ben-Hur has been one of my favourite books since I was nine. I was very much a fan of the Anne of Green Gables books, and when Anne got in trouble for reading it, why, I just had to go find it and read it to :)

I never read Ben-Hur, but I think I will now. A theme of my life I need to work on is intellectual laziness--watch the movie but don't bother with the book. It took me awhile to figure out that Moses didn't necessarily look like Heston in The Ten Commandments. :-)
