Good Oped with good documentation:

"
"Maybe he should apologize to the other 2.5 million veterans who served," said Dole. "He wasn't the only one who was in Vietnam."

An apology is indeed in order. According to Ben Shapiro,

In any case, I'm far more concerned with John Kerry's record since he got back to the United States. His record starts with stabbing in the back American soldiers who were still under fire. In 1971, he told Congress that American military members "raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, (blew) up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam ... "

Hilariously, Kerry has attempted to build his 2004 presidential campaign on the idea that he was a famous war hero. Kerry infamously intoned upon reaching the stage at the Democratic National Convention: "I'm John Kerry, and I'm reporting for duty." In his nomination acceptance speech, Kerry referred to his Vietnam service no fewer than eight times. He didn't refer to his 1971 testimony before Congress once.

I love Bob Dole. One would be hard-pressed to find one as humble, intelligent, and genuinely funny as him. He's truly a great American.

The third party losers in life owe America for their help in enabling their Criminal Buddy the Clintoon being elected instead of Bob Dole. I can't believe the back stabbing these losers in life did with Senator Dole, which enabled the Clintoon to have a second term of raping America.

Would Falsely obtaining only one of the 3 Purple hearts constitute Intentional Desertion???

Compare the two.

Kerry: You can't go any where without seeing a clip of "Mr. 3 Purple Hearts" mountain biking, jogging or whatever. Any thing to showcase his athletic vigor.

Dole: An athlete who came back from war an utter cripple. All the media folks could do was laugh at how he cradles an ink pen in his whithered hand.

Terribly freekin' sad.

You might also thank Ross Perot for that, as well.

...All the media folks could do was laugh at how he cradles an ink pen in his whithered hand. ....

My "well informed" liberal friend did not know he was injured in WWII and that he was not supposed to survive. Dole's speach where he described his father coming on the train to say good bye to his son was impressive. He later adds that his job was to fill out retirement checks for his father and men like him. So, any who would say he would break that trust were wrong.

That was also the speach where he say the Republicans were the party of Lincoln and if anyone in the party was racially motivated, the exits were clearly marked.

Great man. And as strong as he was, he wasn't strong enough to beat back the liberals.

W is stong enough.

Kerry is indeed the “first candidate in U.S. history to run a presidential campaign against himself.”

I like it.

I remember how the Dems trashed Dole's service in 96 and Bush's in 88.
