Really? I only recall the account of him getting shot down and the video of him being plucked from the water by the sub. It seemed to me a truly unquestionable account. No doubt he served on dangerous missions, no doubt he was shot down. And we had it on video.

I'll take your word for it but I don't know how they could attack that.

The specific event that I remember is some leftist author claiming that Bush has shot a group of Japanese sailors in a lifeboat from his plane.

There never was any evidence, but that didn't stop the press from discussing it.

And as has been pointed out the Left attacked Dole's service in WWII, also.
