I was on the road yesterday, Lexington KY (dropping son off at UK) to ATL. Around 360 miles, I-75 in KY, TN, GA. Judging by the number of heavily laden trucks on the road, the economy is doing just fine.
Judging by the number of heavily laden trucks on the road, the economy is doing just fine.I drive the NJ Turnpike daily and see the same thing: roads are thick with commerce.
Two construction companies near my house have Help Wanted signs out on the street. The DC area's economy is exploding with work for contractors, needed for government assignments. The only people being left out are the unqualified, the lazy and those who don't know English.
Hehehe. Just a few weeks ago a lefty friend of mine, who pisses and moans incessantly about the victims of the Bush economy, lost jobs, etc, etc, was instead bitching about a broken windshield: a rock chip from a passing semi. He went on and on about trucks taking over the local highways, and how it had to be stopped. I laughed in his face. Sadly, he had no clue why.
