I don't know how that was addressed as a reply to someone who clearly has some knowledge of what these drugs can do, it was meant to be addressed to those who are so cynical of either adverse effects of drugs or withdrawal from them.

As to the post by someone asing about ADHD. Same thing. It's a profitable business for the chemical manufacturers/drug dealers who call themselves the innocuous sounding name of "pharmaceutical companies".

Some of you need to THINK for yourselves. RESEARCH.
You have a big problem on your hands and if you don't do something to stop it, then you're going to be wondering why on earth violence and suicide figures are so rapidly going up.

Drugs are NOT normality and they are NOT a panacea for human emotions.

Christopher Pittman is a CHILD.
Pharmaceutical profit driven corruption is driven by ADULTS. People who should know better.

i don't really trust the research of the drug companies either--they appear to have witheld some crucual data, although this is not completely clear yet.
also, people are often withdrawn to quickly from anti-depressants, which can cause serious problems, including suicidal thinking and suicidal behavior.
but in the Pittman case, the actual behavior of the boy looks more like conduct disorder (or possibly anti-social personality disorder) than something caused by zoloft. Stealing, fire-setting, and hurting other people are classic symptoms of conduct disorder and anti-social personality. also, this boy's mother left him when he was 2 years old, which probably caused much more damage than the zoloft.
it is clear that we need more info on the negative effects that anti-depressants have on kids, and doctors need to be more cautious in prescibing them, but in the pittman case, i suspect the psychiatric disorder preceded the anti-depressant, and the lawyer is just trying to set up the drug company for a major damage claim.
this lawyer has tried it before, and i trust defense lawyers (and product liability lawyers) even less than i trust drug companies.
a lot of money will ride on this case, because a civil case will follow if the defense in the criminal case is successful.
