I was watching TechTv a few months ago and saw part of a series called Nerd Nation, the episode was called "Information War: The Hacktivists". They interviewd hackers from all around the world who bragged of their exploits and the plans for an upcoming civil disobedience through a ditigal revolution. A software called "floodware" has been developed to tie up websites and prevent them from doing normal business. It was successfully deployed against an online toy company called etoys.com after they refused to give up the domain name to a Scandinavian group called etoy.com.
