New book criticizes President (Buchanan again!)
Fort Worth Star- Telegram ^ | 8/23/2004 | David Kirkpatrick

Patrick Buchanan, the conservative commentator whose Republican primary challenge and divisive convention speech weakened the first President Bush's campaign for re-election in 1992, is publishing a book excoriating the second President Bush over the invasion of Iraq, just in time to grab a share of the limelight at another Republican convention.

In Where the Right Went Wrong, released late last week, Buchanan calls the invasion of Iraq "the greatest strategic blunder in 40 years, a mistake more costly than Vietnam. If prudence is the mark of a conservative, Mr. Bush has ceased to be a conservative," Buchanan wrote. The release of the book, which coincides with the Republican National Convention, gives Buchanan occasion to lay out his case on television and in book promotions just as the Bush campaign seeks to project an image of unity, reviving unhappy memories of the disruptive role Buchanan has played in the past.

"He has a following in conservative circles," said Paul Weyrich, a veteran conservative organizer. "It is not what it once was just because the religious right is not particularly enamored with him. But it is going to have an effect. In a very close election, criticism from anybody who is credible is going to have an effect."

In an interview, however, Buchanan said publishing a book during the campaign was the best way he knew to inject what he considers important ideas into the debate. "The reason I wanted it out now is, it addresses big issues that are not being addressed in this campaign: the massive and growing deficit, the disintegration of the culture and a Wilsonian foreign policy that means war ad infinitum," he said.

"Maybe you don't understand what the word loyalty means. "

Hey good point. Applies to many posting about Buchanan. Buchanan knows that loyalty means America comes first in jobs, immigration and foreign policy.

I once wondered what 9/12 would have been like under a different candidate. I figured Al Gore

Of course the first thing buchanan would have done would be to recall the Ambassador to Israel and launch a cruise missile strike on Mexico City.

Well for whatever reason :o), the American government did arrest over 60 Israelis in the immediate post 9-11 round up (a full 10% of all detainees-BTW).

10% were not Irish, 10% were not Swedes, 10% were not Catholics or even Presbyterians, and 10% were not even the no good French...but 10% Israeli Nationals?....IYO...How come?

You must agree that something surely must have stunk to high heaven in order for that to happen.

Make one sort of jealous of self repsecting nations like New Zealand.

Read the book "In Search of Deepthroat". There were only a about five people who could have possibly been Deepthroat. Buchanan was the prime suspect back then. Most of the others have died. Deepthroat is still alive. Buchanan will probably go down next to Benedict Arnold as an infamous traitor. That will be his footnote in history.

" Every American, whatever his or her sexual orientation, is entitled to the same constitutional rights. Hatred of, or derision for, men and women for an orientation they did not choose is wrong. Violence against these individuals must be condemned and punished; and everyone's contributions to our country and society appreciated."

What in the world could you possibly have against that statement? Are you saying that gays should not enjoy constitutional rights and that we should be violent against them?

Tom Tancredo opposes all attempts to give amnesty to illegals. So does Pat Buchanan and so do I. In fact, 80% of Americans oppose amnesty. Wake up and get with America!

You can't argue with bayouroud about illegal felon immigrants. He wants us to think he has all the answers. I think he is either a) an illegal immigrant felon himself, b) an ACLU lawyer who makes his living defending illegal felons at our expense or c) he is a greedy businessman who pays illegal felons $4 per hour so his wife doesn't have to scrub the family toilet.

I've been to New Zealand many times, and while I love it, I'll take America any day. However, I would consider swapping buchanan to them for one of their sheep...even a blind, diseased one...we'd still be getting the better of the deal.

Those of you who were not around during the last election aren’t aware of all of the facts about Buchanan that surfaced. Almost all of Buchanan’s supporters dropped out of FReeper site they were so embarrassed. Now a number of them have returned hoping that there are enough new FReepers who don’t know about Buchanan.

A good place to start is an article entitled Daddy's Boy: a short biography of Pat Buchanan posted by CWOJackson four years ago.

Buchanan has always been a despicable character with emotional problems

Thank you my friend. Those were some interesting days. Remember when Major Phlem and his patsies would goose step their way onto FR and try to pillage the place. Often it would be you and I and thirty or so of them; I almost felt like we had an unfair advantage out numbering them like that. These days I only see a couple of his faithful are still around; most are either gone or hiding behind new names.

As long as we're swappin' heathens ;o)....I offer William Krystol, David Frum, Richard Perle, and Charles Krauthammer for any sheep shagger New Zealand can spare.

America would be a much more decent country without their twisted and frustrated minds.
