The easiest way to do it is just put the link in a post and I'll add the stuff to make it show. I've tried to explain it but without much luck.

Go to
PhotoBucket.com Free Photo Hosting
they have free online picture hosting, upload your photos and they even provide the HTML tag you need to post it, just copy and paste it into your post.

You need to post it on a website, and then use an html img tag.

Can someone point bmc1 to the html faq thread??

The first rule, and the most important, is that the picture has to be on a website. Having received it in an email means it only exists on your computer. You have to get it up to a website otherwise we cannot see it here. Those instructions depend on what you've got for a website, so we'll do that in freepmail if someone hasn't already done it.

In the meantime, here's how you post a picture. What you're going to do is copy the address of the picture so you can paste it here within an HTML command for displaying an image that has this format:

<img src="address of picture that you copied">

Instructions for Displaying a Picture in a Snappy Comment

  1. Locate the picture on some website or upload it to one of your own.
  2. Place your mouse on the picture and right click to display the popup menu.
  3. Click Properties to display the Properties dialog.
  4. About midway down is Address (URL) with http:// to its right. Move your mouse pointer to the left of the http until the pointer changes to an I-beam.
  5. Click and hold the left mouse button, and drag down to highlight the address. When it stops highlighting, you've reached the end of the address, which is usually either jpg or gif.
  6. Keeping your mouse pointer within the highlighted text, right click again to display the popup menu.
  7. Click Copy. The address is now ready to be pasted into a snappy comment on Freerepublic, but you're not done yet.
  8. Start the snappy comment and when you're ready to place the picture type these characters exactly:

<img src="

Then paste the address of the picture by right-clicking the mouse and selecting Paste. Then close it up with these two final characters:

">

This is exactly how I created the line to post this picture of our favorite columnist from her website. The picture is located at

http://www.townhall.com/acimgs/webimages/coulter124.jpg
and the HTML is:

<img src="http://www.townhall.com/acimgs/webimages/coulter124.jpg">
