There are some (possibly genuine) Vietnam vets who later turned into peace creeps hanging around Hanoi, Saigon, Phnom Penh, etc. these days (I worked there in 1995-2000), so this is not surprising.
Interesting highlight for some enterprising Freeper to research: Andre Sauvegeot (sp?), one of the veterans pictured in the linked photos, was Kerry's translator in the early 1990's when Kerry and Bob Smith roamed Vietnam in connection with their POW/MIA committee investigation, so there is a personal/professional link between those two.
Also quick Google search says he was GE's representative in Hanoi 1993-2003, possibly benefiting from normalization of relations in Clinton years. He was a US Army Colonel with 8 years in Vietnam.
