...A one-room ocean front shack would be fine with me. I had one (4 rooms actually, but a good 'shack'). We now own on the White Oak River, inland by four miles. Hurricanes are NOT your friends! High bluffs ARE!!!

Hurricanes are NOT your friends! High bluffs ARE!!! But you miss the point: if every hundred years or so, a hurricane blows away your one room shack, it's a simple matter to build a new one.
No problem.
No headaches.
