On another note, what is the weapon system that is at the foot of the soldier?
To: Archangelsk
Looks like a Barret .50BMG.

That was my thought at first, but the stock and the length don't look right.

(Plain, simple soldier. Nothing more, nothing less.)

It looks like a bolt action McMillan .50 caliber rifle to me, but I'd need enhance the image a bit to be sure.

It might be a Ruger 10-22 for all I know (except it doesn't have a silly rotary magazine). But I'll bet that short little scope is zero'ed at combat ranges. I'd bet my life on it and him. Literally.

Probably is a Barret. My bro-in-law works for DOD and says that the SF guys have carte blanche to buy whatever weapon systems they want to use. They even have govt issued credit cards with wich to buy this stuff.
Awesome!!!
To: TADSLOS
or...maybe he is the spotter and the shooter is trying to pinpoint his next victim... ;~)

By the look of the brake at business end I'd have to say it was a .50, and the stock looks like a McMillan

What an incredible photo.
To: TADSLOS
I wonder where his spotter is? He/She/it better be on the roof of a nearby building. Within 30 meters.

Barret has come out with a .50 that is a lot smaller than the original. Seen the video and it looks like one Hell of a kick.

And on a related note; has anyone here seen "Enemy at the Gates"? I thought it was a great movie about snipers. This picture reminds me of alot of the scenes in that movie.
