SOME OF THE OLDERS WERE VERY WELL INFORMED. new crop does seem to contain a lot of trolls, but FR is still my primary news source(and homepage).

Isn't that to be expected? The bigger we get, the more libs we attract? I'd be suprised if we didn't attrack trolls.
