From BRIT HUME, SPecial REport just now...RE the Proof FEC requires to substantiate a claim... Jim: -- "No it alleges coordination between the groups with veterans for truth and the bush-cheney campaign. It cites media reports about consult yanlts working with a group who have in the past worked with bush campaigns over republican effortS. The coordination is policed very closely, but the standard is very high. Proveable phone calls, memos, emails. Not circumstantial evidence. The bush-cheney campaign called this complaint frivelous.

One last point, swift boat veterans for truth have spent about $1 million on their ad campaigns and don't deny they're against kerry. Pro-kerry groups have spent some $ 3 million against bush since september, and there are no fewer than 17 officials with those groups who had or retained ties to the democratic national committee, the kerry campaign, or democratic policies.
