Oopps. Sorry, no offense intended, though I was very specific in picking that particular picture.
Seeing as how J F'n K also uses his two index fingers and points straight forward at people (as shown in the pic I posted), the fork seemed to be THE most appropriate.

Isn't there a quote somewhere from McC where he says Kerry's words were used against him and his fellow POWs as well? The link was posted early on on this thread. Go back and look for links.

I cannot view this ad. Is there another link directly to the file?

Dream scenario:
McCain goes on Larry King. Larry shows the add. Asks McCain for his reaction. A visibly shaken John McCain is shown with a tear running down his cheek.
McCain tries to maintain his "centrist" attitude and says, "I'm sorry Larry, but this is too personal for me to comment on."
King presses, "Does this bring up some painful memories of when you were held as a POW?"
McCain, "Yes, of course it does." Mc Cain is quiet for 2 or 3 seconds. "I can't see how anyone could say such things"

When I went through SERE school before going overseas, during the POW stage, we were beaten up, waterboarded, kept in "black boxes" etc etc just to get us to sign a document that said we committed attrocities. Same here. Except I threatened to beat up one of my "interrogators". (I had already been through everything you listed above, and I thought that was the worst they could throw at me.)
Guess I was wrong. They tied me to a fence, and then beat on my legs with rubber hoses. When I could no longer stand they untied me and rolled me around on the ground by kicking me. It took 2 1/2 months for the bruises on my legs to heal. Although SERE came close to breaking me, I never signed anything or said anything.
I was never a POW, but I think I have a small sense of what they went through. I decided as a result of SERE that I would rather die fighting than become a POW.
I'm glad to see the POS that gave the enemy what they wanted, voluntarily, is finally getting something back.
Since I can't do much about J.F'n.K personally, guess I'll have to give some bucks to the Swifties instead.

The one thing that doesn't make sense in this whole thing is that this campaign has obviously been planned for a long time -- but how could anyone have known that Kerry would make his Vietnam service the focal point of his convention speech? It was as predictable as the sun coming up every morning. Kerry has used his Vietnam experience in every Senate campaign starting in 1984. He has spoken endlessly in the primaries about his service in Vietnam. It is part of his MO and DNA and has always been successful. He intimidates his opponents with it. I served, you didn't.
For the first time Kerry is up against a bunch of guys who won't be intimidated or backed down. They know him best and have the bona fides to more than match his. Kerry is having a hard time dealing with it.

Wow indeed! Did Kerry actually think that he could phony up reports for his resume, turn on his comrades and country, and think it would lead him to the White House?

This is not political, it's personal. Amen brother. That's what we need to keep hammering away on. It's not politically motivated. It's personal. These guys hate John Kerry's ass, and for good reason.

"He won't apologize, he won't feel any remorse - he'll lie. That's what Kerry does. Lie on top of lie on top of lie... his whole career is a house of lies, and it is crumbling..."
To paraphrase the senior senator from Taxechusettes:
"Time after time after time after time is lie after lie after lie after lie."
Hic... Thank you Teddy

...but I gotta say...after seeing this ad, I genuinely feel sorry for Kerry.
When those commendable character traits begin to wash over you, try to imagine Kerry as CIC and making decisions on global terrorism, nuclear proliferation and deterrence, the sovereignty of the US and the fact that Kerry would control our nuclear forces.
End of empathy.

The response will be, "It's 30 years old, why dredge up the past," along with handful after handful of doodoo to smear the vets. Kerry will fall back on his "Unfortunate youthful overenthusiasm." The NYT will carry his water. Many more papers will ride on the back of NYT. But it won't work. It won't work because even DUmmies will remember the 30 year old AWOL charges, and 25 year old DUI charges the press trumpeted against GW Bush.

I haven't seen this ad yet, but understand you should not feel sorry for Kerry: he will not feel the shame to which you refer at all, rather the only emotion he will have will be righteous indignation at having been attacked -- "do you know who I am? -- and a thirst for revenge at the good men he slandered in the '70s and is slandering today. No, sympathy for Kerry is misplaced.
