Here is my psychoanalysis of what happened to Chris Matthews' mind the other night. It is obvious that he was attracted to Michelle Malkin. However, Matthews is used to sweet talking women while under the influence of alcholic beverages back in his drinking days. Since Matthews is (supposedly) on the wagon, he just couldn't relax around Ms. Malkin and his frustrations caused him to go into an IRRATIONAL attack mode. And when I say frustrations I mean frustrations over not being able to have a drink and not being able to successfully hit on Ms. Malkin. I know guys who just don't know how to talk to attractive women unless they have a few drinks in them.
You could be right with your diagnosis about what was going on with Chrissy the other night. I notice Andrea Mitchell was filling in for him the next night.
There was nothing Malkin could have done (other than slug Chris and that could have led to a felony charge) the way Chris was going ballistic. If she had paused, he would have filled the time with his tirade. She couldn't finish her sentence.
Chris' mother must not have taught him any manners or self control. It's one thing to shout and interrupt, but this was over the top. In any case, Malkin came out the winner, it will help with her book sale, and accusations against Kerry got more attention.
