The Kerry campaign has told Salon that the publisher of "Unfit for Command," the book that is at the center of the attack on Kerry's military record by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, is retailing a hoax and should consider withdrawing it from bookstores. "No publisher should want to be selling books with proven falsehoods in them, especially falsehoods that are meant to smear the military service of an American veteran," said Kerry campaign spokesman Chad Clanton. "If I were them, I'd be ducking under my desk wondering what to do. This is a serious problem."
Even some uncomfortable Republicans might breathe a sigh a relief if "Unfit for Command" were to vanish from bookstores: "I don't think the Swift Boat Veterans are helping the Republican cause," Rep. Christopher Shays, R-Conn., remarked on CNN Thursday.

Yep and hey Chris - the Swifties are a good deal MORE AMERICAN than you will ever be a Republican, you putz.
I'd say I was having flashbacks to Connie Morella, but I think her ACU Life was in the teens.
But, but Chad said no publisher should be selling books with proven falsehoods. Are you implying these guys are hypocrites? ;-)
True. Shays is no conservative. But half the time he votes right and as a place holder for Republicans, he helps them keep majority status. I'm not sure we could do any better than that in a state like Connecticut. I was hoping Ann would follow through with a primary run against him, but I think she concluded the same thing.
If these publishers print books written by Democrats, they are definately selling books with proven falsehoods in them.
In 2001, she dipped below even that. She made Gephardt look like Allan Keyes (not an easy task).
Laughed when I read your post quite a picture you paint. I think you are right.

"We went to get our books yesterday at Borders. We had to hunt for them and only found six on a display away from the the new releases or the best sellers. When we went to pay (we bought five), the cashier saw them and said "You got to them before me, I was going to do that!" I looked up, surprised at finding a conservative working in a book store, and he added "...so I could burn them."

Kerry is all talk and no lawsuit. Not good enough. He should sue the SBVfT instead of the mafia tactic of hitting the people around them (in this case, their publisher).
Payback is hell John Kerry, Your fellow Viet nam Veterans have not forgotton how you testified in the Senate against them, how you aided and abetted the enemy (north Viet Nam), deal with it.
As John 0'Neill said on Fox news today, even if Bush asked him to stop,he wouldn't, even if it hurts Bush's chances of re election for Presidency, O'Neill said he would not stop....these "Men" Kerry betrayed are coming for you Kerry.
All of Kerry's whinging,is going to make even MORE people buy the book to see what all the fuss is about. What a maroooooon!
All this from the party whose leaders went as a group on opening day of F911 and then became cheerleaders!. Any proven falsehoods in this movie? Any complaints from Kerry about a movie meant to smear the service of an American President?. Or...Whoopie?,Al Franken?,Move On?,etc. And smearing an American veteran? 1971 Senate hearings!!!. I am a new Republican and new here, second post ever, so I hope I didn't vent too much here.
They are soooo stupid. By trying to "silence" the critics they are just making people more curious about what's in the book.
