Steinberg sans mustache
"Don't take my picture," snapped Steinberg, who has shaved off the mustache he sported when getting out of prison. Steinberg is not registered in his own name at the Carter, where his room overlooks the New York Times building. Earlier this month, in an interview with New York magazine, Steinberg said, "I was a good father," and denied he was responsible for Lisa's death. Fortune Society officials then ordered Steinberg to vacate the residence, saying he had broken a promise to not speak to the media. He then went to the Carter.
Rat bastard. I can't think of anything better to say.
Where is Charles Bronson when you need him?
People who serve their time and are then released should be let alone. The cynical NY Post is just using Steinberg's notoriety to try to raise circulation.
LIz...ya gotta stop dumpster diving in the pesss trash heaps..It's NOT good foryour mental well being..From not on, at least ONCE every TWO daay..you have to post a positive, enjoyable, uplifting article, about anything...you know, like "Barbara Streisand's Malibu mansion washes into thePacific Ocean"....something to arm the cockles of your heart...
IF someone kills a kid, sir, he shouldn't be let out again.
He should be killed himself. Your sympathy for him is disgusting.
In NYC that's a rank flophouse, right?
That works out to over $3400 a month. Who's paying the bill for this hotel?
My problem with the tabloid focus on Steinberg is that everybody already knows who he is, and what he looks like, so he doesn't really pose a threat to others. Meanwhile, there are criminals just as bad, if not worse, who get released into the community every day, and there's no stories on them. They're the ones who are the real danger to society.
I hope someone takes care of him!!
"Your sympathy for him is disgusting."
No symppathy here for Steinberg; just contempt for the cynical newspapers who use people for profit, and for people like you who think the law is for everyone else, but not themselves.
He should have been shivved while he was still "on vacation."
It's not sympathy for Steinberg. It's digust with the system, and I agree with doug. If we are to have a system where the people who have been imprisoned ONCE are on a permanent watch list, then the objective of the police will be to get everyone on that watchlist, regardless of their actual deviancy. This is not to say that Steinberg ISN'T a likely recidivist, but frankly, if he is, why the HELL was he sentenced lightly and let out quickly?
The objective here should not be to make sure people who molest or kill kids on a permanent watch, which is what the paper is doing. The objective should be to keep them locked up if they are truly likely to commit the same or similar crimes again.
filthy scumbag........
Yeah, true. I'm waiting for, and will pounce, on the Streident story.
I also daydream of posting "Bill Clinton in Harlem Rape Try." I see about 12,000 FReeper responses on that thread.
Your accusation is unfounded. Point to a place I said the law wasn't for me. Find me a time I broke the law and asked not to be punished for it. You will not find either. So spread your contempt wherever you like, sir. I wouldn't expect anything more from someone who dislikes newspapers more then child-killers.
Your sympathy for that dirtball is disgusting. My sincere hope is that he will be brought to final justice either in this life or the next. I hope that he was someones bitch in prison and that he faced severe abuse.
pack, you joined 12-3. did you use a time machine?
