Sen. Zell Miller of Georgia, a Democrat who long ago endorsed President Bush for re-election, will deliver the keynote address at the Republican National Convention, party officials announced Thursday.
Miller will speak on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden in New York on the third night of the convention.
``In 1992, Senator Miller delivered the keynote address in the very same arena at the Democrats' convention,'' GOP chairman Ed Gillespie said in making the announcement. ``We're honored he'll be taking the stage at the Garden this year for President Bush.''
I don't know about anyone else, but I like this all around.
it will be funny to hear the RATS slamming him after his speech. They will be frothing.
Doesn't matter Cuomo says Kerry will win.
Actually I think this will play well in middle America.
I'd look for them to get an early start slamming Zell. I doubt they'll wait until after the speech.......
GO ZELL GO
Rush will interview Zell on Friday"Doesn't matter Cuomo says Kerry will win."
Kreskin has predicted otherwise.
I like it too.
The Democrats couldn't find a "respectable" Republican to speak for them... so they hijacked the 'liberal' son of one of the greatest Republicans ever to grace the inside of the Oval Office...
And he didn't even endorse their candidate, instead he asked for votes for someone named "stem cell research".
Ah-Ha! They finally saw fit to announce a DEMOCRAT Senator endorsed G.W. for re-election. Took them long enough.
This is huge. There are many Dems. out there who do not realize how left their party has become and do not believe Republicans when the tell them. My father-in-law supported the war in Iraq, is pro-life, and pro-family and insists on voting Democrat no matter how much I tell him his party no longer believes in the same things he does. Maybe a fellow Dem. can help move him and others like him.
Nonetheless, I was SICKENED that the son of the "greatest president ever" chose to speak at their convention.
(His father had to be turning over in his grave).
Wonder if Ron Jr. would have spoken there if his father was still alive and did not have alzheimers (or was only in the early stages of it). I cannot comprehend how Ron Jr. had Reagan Sr. as a father and ended up with "those people."
Actually, this is no surprise. Michael Reagan says that Ron Jr. never voted for his own father. He is an unabashed liberal.
Ron Jr. didn't even show up to the event to welcome the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan to its home port. He is opposed to the military establishment. He doesn't have a clue about stem cell research, and any attempts by Michael to correct his brother have failed.
I am glad to say that Michael will be speaking at our convention! But unfortunately he won't be speaking about stem cell research.
Just this ONE speech should do the trick to push the moderates/undecideds over the edge.
Amazing grace, indeed. Zell once was blind, but now he sees. He's a great choice.
I'd like it better if he'd apologize for supporting Clinton in any way, and explaining how he changed his mind.
Dan
Great news. Zell Miller is a great man and a very good speaker. Can't wait to hear him.
That's exactly the reason for my "amazing grace" comment. I'm fully expecting Zell to explain his ascent from the depths of Democratic depravity to the height of Republican moral and fiscal rectitude.
Hopefully this will be a wake up call to the remaining "Scoop Jackson" Democrats that they no longer have a home in the Rat party.
