You can help defund these groups by pressuring state legislatures to pass legislation saying that student activity fees for organizations like this can be collected only if students affirm it is OK at state universities. At present permission is assumed even though in many places they are "voluntary" and students can get fees back only if they apply at the right office on the 5th Tuesday of the 4th month after a blue moon.

Made a big difference in my state. And it is an easy sell--college is expensive enough, why penalize students further and so on.

You're preaching to the choir my friend.

In states and on campuses where the checkoff is not automatic, I've heard students are heavily pressured on registration day to check the box.
