"House Leadership Denny Hastert (R-IL) wholeheartidly endorses Amb. Keyes?" I am sure he did. I did back a few years ago too. Alan was a great ambassador because he was kept by R Reagan, mostly OUT of these kind of DOMESTIC issues... Reagan was a smart enough guy to send him to the embassy service... where he couldn't "loose canon" the party or even seriously hurt himself.

not after this plan. pal.

mostly, you can expect the republican leadership will all just quietly allow alan to go on to meet his polical destiny and thank him for his service... alan has moved to the left of buchanan.

barring divine intervention or an epiphany of biblical proportions, this is fork time. the caserole is done cooked.
gaining a senate seat WOULD have been nice.
But that aint gonna happen with fiscal conservatives, white guys from south illinois, hearing him scream for racial reparations from the children and grandsons of the guys who fought slavery in the south...

alan has lost his mind if he thinks he can win by driving them away with calls for reparations and race based tax cuts for blacks...

Message of the day:

alan has lost his mind if he thinks he can win by driving them away

Sadly, his followers seem to be taking the opposite tack. The more their anger is rejected, the angrier they get, the more they rant, rage, threaten, and insult their critics.

I'm starting to wonder if they really don't care about getting votes at all, and are simply looking for the most dramatic "go down in a blaze of glory" defeat imaginable, a la that lunatic holed up in the mosque in Iraq.

After that, they can then sit and scream about how it was all OUR fault, for "rejecting the message" blah blah blah blah.

I'll wait till the pie has been baked to taste of it...did you know that Hastert has a new book out? Did you hear what he said about abolishing the IRS/IRC? It has been trial ballooned up by surrogates of the Admin. as "THE DOMESTIC CENTERPIECE" of the 2nd Bush term. Your thoughts?
