(CNSNews.com) - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) targets children as young as 6 years of age for indoctrination with violent and graphic propaganda, according to a report released this week by the Center for Consumer Freedom.
Entitled "Your Kids, PETA's Pawns," the document claims that the animal "rights" group indoctrinates students at every age level, sidestepping parents and school authorities to lure young and impressionable children into radical activism.
This new report walks readers through PETA's coordinated effort, which includes the use of graphic comic books, age-specific World Wide Web sites, grotesque toys, schoolyard demonstrations and e-mail alerts sent directly to small children.
The Center for Consumer Freedom's website lists a number of examples of PETA's attempts to influence youngsters:
"A 15-year-old girl attempts to ban circus elephants in Denver. A rash of adolescent-driven, animal 'rights'-related vandalism hits California. A 12-year-old boy passes the hat for animal rights. A popular software company promotes a video game about 'animal liberation' activists who destroy medical research labs. Ten-year-olds in Ontario are shown 'don't kill the animals' videos in public schools. North America's largest animal 'rights' convention features two separate panels titled 'Engaging Children.'
"Is there any doubt that the animal 'rights' movement is targeting your kids?"
A number of psychologists and school officials have denounced PETA's tactics. "Some of the graphics and some of the messages are very, very disturbing -- especially to younger kids," said Dr. Jeffrey Dolgan, chief of psychology at Children's Hospital in Denver.
"Children become the unwitting victims of some campaigns, which are, in fact, harmful because they prey on children's fears, and they prey on children's vulnerabilities, and they prey on children's anxieties," Dolgan added.
PETA's 2003 annual report describes reaching more than 2.3 million children and teachers using a variety of tactics.
Elementary school: PETA activists give young children graphic "Your Mommy Kills Animals" comics outside theaters; a newsletter introduces children to the vocabulary of the "animal liberation" movement; and PETA employees in colorful animal costumes intercept pupils as they walk to and from school.
Middle school: PETA sent a convicted felon into schools as a "humane education lecturer;" a "PETA Kids" website condemns fishing, preaches against milk and teaches children to boycott circuses and zoos.
High school: PETA's curriculum encourages students to consider if it's "acceptable to break a law" for animal "rights;" websites urge teens to join an "army of animal 'rights' rebels" and rewards illegal "actions" with free merchandise; and an online column urges vandalism of dairy posters in school cafeterias.
College: PETA sponsors college-oriented conferences where activists teach arson, vandalism and police confrontation; an intern program provides students and recent graduates with hands-on protest experience; and PETA recruits additional activists via sponsorships of summer rock-concert tours.
"PETA is deliberately trying to turn innocent kids into hard-core militants," said Richard Berman, CCF research director. "The group is a $24 million menace to children of all ages -- and most parents don't even know their kids are being targeted."
The CCF describes itself as "a nonprofit coalition supported by restaurants, food companies and consumers working together to promote personal responsibility and protect consumer choices."
Requests for a response from PETA representatives were unanswered at press time.

Oh, I forgot to mention we travling by train.
Keep the faith and welcome brother.
when i was at summer school a little while ago. Some girls came up to me and gave me these fliers, about the truth about leather that they skin the animal alive, some leathers are made from your own pets i was disgusted with there arrogance. So the next day i told them a story about this white Siberian tiger these two men captured then waited five days for it to die of starvation, then ate it. Right after i told the story not a tear came from either of their eyes; and said," thats nice but why should we care?"
She makes me so proud.
PETA=People EATING Tasty Animals!
Semper Fi
Boy, am I craving a steak...

Who invites these people into the schools -- the same people who invite GLSEN and Planned Parenthood?
And remember, you have to eat TWO steaks to make up for these nut jobs' uneaten share.
