This is extremely hot news if true. This sounds like Clinton was meddling in foreign affairs, trying to undermine the foreign policy of the elected President. Was he also talking to Chirac? How about Saddam? Was Clinton running around behind the scenes trying to undermine Bush's presidency? What exactly was going on here?

Jimmy Carter did it throughout the run up to the Iraq War, and is still doing it. Before this administration, Kerry did it at least twice. First, when he met with the North Viet Namese at the Paris talks (during the Nixon administration); and, second, when he mwt with Daniel Ortega (during the Reagan administration). There are examples up many other Democrats doing the same. Their support for the Marxist government of Ortega in Nicaragua is the most notable in this regard. Remember Texas congressman (as Speaker of the House) Jim Wright.

It's nothing new for a former RAT President to try and meddle with our elections through foreigners. It was revealed about a year ago that Carter had actually contacted the Soviets in hope of getting the KGB to try and help turn the '84 election to Mondale. The Russians were smart enough to realize that not even they could save Mondale's campaign.

I think it could just be Bill being Bill, telling a group what they want to hear.

Now if he did, I trust Tony tattled on him.

Back before the war began we heard Clinton and Blair met privately. Some here feared Blair would cave...I am pleased to say I predicted he would not. We all guessed Clinton was trying to talk him out of supporting "Bush" (America).

Well, remember a few months ago when that interview in England took place (Dimbleby??) and the headlines were about Clinton taking umbrage at the Monica questions? That was the least of the interview. The interviewer flat out asked him if it was true he tried to talk Blair out of supporting the war and Clinton gave one of those long rambling answers that did not deny that is what he tried to do.

And yes, I and others suspect he did indeed meet with Chirac and Schroeder and God knows who else.

I think, right here on ATWR there was some mention of x42's meeting with leaders in europe trying to keep them from helping President Bush before we went into Afphanistan and Iraq. He didn't want them to help up. He's a fine Amerikan.
