The Illinois Senate seat is an open REPUBLICAN seat. The other senator is a Democrat. Most congressmen are Democrats. The governor is a Democrat. Both houses of the state legislature are controlled by Democrats. It's gone Democrat the last three elections and it will go Democrat in November. It is a reliably Democratic state.
