I think the POST is twisting this in a funny way. Thurlow swore in his affidavit that Kerry was "not under fire" when he was saving Kerry, not during the ambush attempt. Nice try though POST!

i think Droz(kerrys best/only friend in nam) was skipper of PCF 43 and 43 was on the 3/13 mission, would not surprise me if he wrote up Kerry and Thurlow..putting same language in both reports..also going to Kerry's site command history chronology of highlights, i see no report between 3/8 and 3/13..

looking at awards at the Kerry site for 1969 neither Kerry or Thurlow is shown receiving a bronze star..alston got one and Droz got 2, the second posthumously..I wonder if Droz got his on 3/13....need to find out who wrote him up...
