Whats wrong with hunting deer with a shotgun? Its a lot harder than scoping them out with a rifle. Also, many states and areas within states only allow shotguns when hunting deer with a firearm.

Mandatory in many states. However the usual gun is a single barrel, not a double, let alone a side by side duck gun. The single barrel could be a single shot break action, but more common would be a pump or semi-auto.

Many use a sabot - a single slug - as their load. It's quite effective against man, too. Many states won't allow anything except shotguns for deer hunting.
