TEHRAN (MNA) -- The Iranian animation film “The Hole” made by Vahid Nasirian and produced by the Experimental and Documentary Film Center was awarded second prize at the 19th Odense International Film Festival, which was held from August 9 to 14 in Denmark.

“The Hole” was awarded second prize in the international competition section of the festival. Hassan Dezvareh, the director of international affairs of the Iranian Young Cinema Society, was on the jury of the international competition section.

The short fiction films “Retroversion” directed by Reza Sarkanian and “Does It Rain?” made by Majid-Reza Dehqani were also screened in the international competition section.

This year’s festival featured a program entitled “Commemoration of Iran’s Short Films”, during which the following six films produced by the Iranian Young Cinema Society and Iran’s Experimental and Documentary Film Center were screened: “The Storm of the Dragonfly” made by Shahram Mokari, “The Last Uncounted Village” directed by Shahram Alidi, “The Light Struck” by Vahid Nasirian, “The Window” by Behzad Rasul-Zadeh, “The Telephone” made by Massud Keramati, and “The Life in the Yard” directed by Hamid Sami’i Samarqandi.

The 19th International Odense Film Festival is an independent short film festival with both international and national competition sections. It is organized by the City of Odense in cooperation with and through the financial support of the Danish Film Institute.

The festival was designed to screen unusual short films of high quality with an original and imaginative sense of creative delight as found in the works of Hans Christian Andersen, the world-famous writer of fairy-tales, who was born in Odense in 1805.

I'd be very interested in finding out what the film was about. We might get a real look inside the minds of the young Iranians.
