At least one member of the top-ranked Southern California football team is under investigation for sexual assault, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed Tuesday.
The assault allegedly occurred Monday morning, according to Officer Esther Reyes, a police spokeswoman.
"Today the rape special section of LAPD's robbery division began conducting an investigation into the allegation of a sexual assault that may involve a member or members of the USC football team," Reyes told reporters. She declined to elaborate.

what station, KFI?
XTRA 690 and KABC 790.
One thing they can be absolutely sure of, Susan Ostrich is safe.
I expect trashing of the victim to commence by 9am.
If there are up to 14 players involved, I wonder if there are multiple victims?
I just hear about on local KCAL Channel 9 news Parrot
OH WOW NOT SUPRISE This same unversity gave the NFL ORENTHAL
Gut check time.
Hope it's not true and I can't stand USC (okay I like them better than Notre Dame).
it's the old Florida turn-around game. They can't conduct their elections properly and now they're trying to steal the National Championship.
Good try, Miami!
Always nice to know where not to send my college aged daughter for school...I am sooooo sick of athletes being treated as "special" ( and no it is not new) These guys are animals they are the lowest of the low. People adulate them and make them to be heroes and role models. AS far as I can tell these folks oought to be doing hard time with an R after their names...let the "big boys" in the pen teach them some manners
Clearly these institutions not doing anything effective to *prevent* these people with over-developed self-confidences and egos from trying to take what they want without regard to another person.
It doesn't help at all that they skate in the legal forum if they are brought to trial.
I think when you try to build a team from mediocrity to National Championship status in a span of 4 or 5 years, you end up "broadening' your standards and taking players with a character you wouldn't have taken in the past.

Like she's a nut & a slut....after all football players are such clean cut wholesome men.
If there are up to 14 players involved....
There goes your football team.
Ditto Gloria Allred. Although anyone volunterring to drive a stake through her heart while she's still in her coffin will be most welcome.
You forgot wholesome young men. From fine families. Yes, very fine families. They're just kids after all.
Let the platitudes begin.
Far too many athelets are pamapred and given a pass even for rape. One book that investigated this topic is "Pros and Cons."
Oh, you mean the other usc, the real USC is the University of South Carolina. Who cares?

Are you saying that USC took a play out of Florida State's playbook? Okay, I'll agree with you.
Clearly, if an applicant has a criminal record, that should be considered. But holding an institution accountable for the actions of its students is pretty absurd.
The students are accountable. Any illegal activities were not being committed as agents of the university.
