I have seen something similar to that, very clear image of something strange. I heard that is why they stopped live shuttle broadcasts, any truth to that?

I don't know either way, about the live broadcast decision that is. All I know is that it wasn't a camera artifact as it was being tracked by Norad. The Air Force came in a few days later, determined it to be space debris, but oddly took all the master tapes.

The shuttle was flying over the Amazon at the time and you can clearly see it in the downlink. Does that sound like the one you saw??
