"From the article I was reading on this the other day, the problem was not because she ate pork, but because she didn't listen after being twice asked not to cook pork in the company microwave where muslim employees prepared their food."

Thanks for the clarification. It sounds to me like the Muslim employees needed to buy their own microwave in that case. If she cooked pork in their microwave then I could see where the company might have a point, but a "company" microwave must tolerate all sorts of cuisine or it is a racist and intolerant microwave.

Tough Noogies. What happens if a Jew used the microwave? That's where this is heading. The tail is wagging the dog.

YOU conform to OUR culture. No Jew that I know of has complained about something like this nor have I heard a Christian complain about Catholics cooking fish on Fridays. What the Hell is the matter with these people? Oh yeah, the owner of this outfit is a Muslim and has imported all the Old World biases here and wants us to conform to his biases.

LOL. Reminds me of a friend who was having a big family cook-out. At the last minute as people started arriving, her old beat-up gas grill fell apart. She went to the next door neighbors to borrow their's, (a brand new grill) and she said they seemed reluctant at first but then agreed to let her have it.

Only when she was done and was returning the grill did she discover why they were reluctant to let her borrow it. They were an Orthodox Jewish family who kept strict Kosher (she knew they were Jewish but didn't think of the Kosher part.) Instead of giving the "pork laden" grill back to them, she went out and bought them a nice new grill and offered her apologies. All was well.

Sounds like this woman in Orlando wasn't fired for eating bacon, but for refusing (even after having it explained to her) to show some level of respect for other's religious beliefs. It also sounds like they need more than one microwave in their mess area, be it company or personal. There is nothing wrong with making these small accomodations to other's faiths.
