And it's a crummy airport, too. (/Tulsa bashing ... it's actually not bad, compared to many cities :-)
Maybe not wrongly. Police are often scarce at 3-4 am. It appears the bar owner felt the "need to do something" - hence the brass.
The moral of the story is, "If you think you're a vigilante and wanna wear the brass, make sure you're in the right and can back it up with @$$."
Wow, you're on a roll today! Have you done a poem about the 5th District runoff?
No, I'm down in the 7th. I'm in the oppressed McIntyre's district.
Actually, it's not too bad. Denver is worse, imo. Houston is the worst.
Note to Taxchick: Whenever possible DO NOT use the Philadelphia airport. They will never finish their 500 year plan to remodel.
We were last through PHL about 1993. Newark was the worst, before the remodel - like a bus station!
you might offend a Congressman wearing a shirt like that.
or one that says "throw the bums out"
PHL has made no progress since 1993. Trust me. Still all saw horses and taped off areas.
St Louis sux for snotty employees, as well.
maybe he was a ninja bum
But NOT if easily offended!!
I know one near my home town who's a 'Nam Vet. Speak with him very often. He was Special Ops, has a slight limp, and could fool any "tough guy" into thinking he's easy. Tangle with him at your own risk....
Excellent point MM. From what I have read on this thread, it seems obvious that these thugs got a kick out of roughing up people whom they thought were unable to defend themselves. The thugs were wrong in this case, and I, for one, am glad.
I am reminded of a very old joke:
A man who was offended by some comments from a trucker on his CB confronts said trucker at a rest stop:
Offended man (striking his best martial arts pose): "Karate!"
Trucker: "Tire tool!"
Guess who won that fight.
§21-1272. Unlawful carry.
It shall be unlawful for any person to carry upon or about his or her person, or in a purse or other container belonging to the person, any pistol, revolver, shotgun or rifle whether loaded or unloaded or any dagger, bowie knife, dirk knife, switchblade knife, spring-type knife, sword cane, knife having a blade which opens automatically by hand pressure applied to a button, spring, or other device in the handle of the knife, blackjack, loaded cane, billy, hand chain, metal knuckles, or any other offensive weapon, whether such weapon be concealed or unconcealed...
Subsequent paragraphs excempt concealed handgun permit holders under 1290.1, recreational use of knives, and peace officers, but even with a concealed handgun permit you still can't carry brass knuckles:
1290.7. Construing authority of license
The authority to carry a concealed handgun pursuant to a valid handgun license as authorized by the provisions of the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act, Sections 1 through 25 of this act, [FN1] shall not be construed to authorize any person to:
1. Carry or possess any weapon other than an authorized pistol as defined by the provisions of Section 2 of this act; [FN2]
So it does indeed appear that they're openly admitting to a misdemeanor under Oklahoma law.
He was sitting along the main road in Georgetown. I forgot the name of it.
K or M street probably, but the road that runs along the river is also a bum hotspot.
LOL I know a version of that joke.
I now live in downtown Tulsa (last 12 yrs).
We've got the bums on the run.
We got a "Vision 2025" here that don't include bums.
The bums are seeking sanctuary at many of Tulsa's ubiquitous downtown churches.
My husband just found this palindrome:
"Tulsa night life - filth, gin, a slut!"
I live in Grove and I never see bums here, but, we (husband and I) see "our" bum---with his dog! on the side of HWY 44 coming out of Joplin with his "I'll Work For Food" cardboard sign.
I'm glad your bums are on the run. Now, if we could rid ourselves of the lake bums.
