What is fair about letting one taxpayer who was not a slave keep his money, but still demanding another taxpayer who was not a slave-holder ante up?
Sorry. You can't dress up this pig of an idea.
Can you name one other candidate for the United States Senate this year that is getting this kind of coverage? Or 4-5 threads per day at FR?
Where was he two weeks ago? Answer - somewhere in Maryland! LOL.
Since then (and I'm sure I've missed a lot of it), he's moved to Illinois, become a candidate for one of the state's highest public offices, enlightened everyone on the many distinctions to be made between the various species of carpetbaggers, likened his opponent to a modern slaveholder, challenged the way Illinois selects occupants for the very office he's running for, and now he's advocating the creation of what would appear to most people to be a race-based tax system. And, none of these positions have really been "choices" in the ordinary sense, but are instead proposals compelled by fundamental moral principles (or imperatives, as he likes to call them).
I am toying with the idea of creating a thread that would permit people to come up with some more ideas to help him keep this train running!! ;-)
Well --- is it "fair" that when I turned 18, I didn't get my Indian money because I'm not an Indian yet others I know did? Is it "fair" that some people because they earn less get more money back from the IRS than they even paid in? Is it "fair" that because I'm not a "refugee" from Russia, I have to go out an earn my own living but they get to collect welfare? There already are a lot of "special groups" and none of it's fair. Maybe it's time to get some discussion going on it --- get liberals to examine what income taxes are all about.
