So if Laci already knew about the cheating, and wasn't reacting to it, then how come Scott had to tell very specific lies to Amber in order to have the period from late December, till Jan. 25, free, w/o seeing Amber?

Great point !!! says it all....if he had permission he would have run thru the town like a junkyard dog in heat knowing Snott...another point, in all interviews Snott says he doesnt want to take the attention off Amber while his real life shows he could have cared less about her and never looked for her (hopefully the jury will consider the fact the ONLY one who would not look is the killer).
