In the phone calls Ambers been telling Snott he's a lying murder and he knew the phones were being tapped(that's why he admitted nothing). If she would have agreed to meet with him and accepted money from him, that would have made her look like like she suddenly trusted him after all those hours of recorded doubt. That would have totally voided all the tapes and all her recorded opinions of him. He was trying to set her up again. He's very smart and cruel.. He is relentless.
That is such a very smart insight, juzcuz. He was doing what some people sometimes do when a divorce is ongoing. The "reconciliation" re-shuffles the cards, and the set-up person might have had an advantage before it, but not after it.
Either that or he was going to sink her in that lake.
Oh, and they played part of a tape from about Feb. 18. Scott at that point sounds like he is really, really coming unhinged. I can't help but think that if they'd just persevered a bit longer, he might have cracked, even if there were no actual get-together.
